Guyana vows to protect jaguars as the cats are a near-threatened species

The government of Guyana have put in a proposal to protect the jaguars.the reason that this is going on is because the jaguars are a near -threatened species. the program that the proposal was sent to is called
Panthera.I think that this is important because if the people of Guyana didn't give in their proposal then the jaguars would die out and if they do then the ecosystem would fail.every plant and animal is very important to the ecosystem..
