What a hoot! Unique cry reveals new owl species

in 2003, two members of a research team  realized that the owl's calls were unique . This new species was not discovered for a very long time because it looks so much like its relatives. its name is now
Otsu jolandae. I think this is important because the more and more new species we discover the more experiments we can make and the more and more species we can protect and make sure they don't go extinct.
