Glass Lava Flow Still Oozes a Year Later


Puyehue-Cordón Caulle volcano and its obsidian lava flow, still going nearly a year after the volcano stopped erupting. A lava flow is still inching it's way down a volcano in Chile, nearly after it erupted a year ago. The lava is made of obsidian or volcanic glass. Researchers visited the volcano in January and found the obsidian flow moving even though the volcano stopped erupting in April 2012. I think this is important because we have to be careful that the lava flow doesn't get to close to where people are. Another reason i think this is important because if people are going to get close to the volcano that they are not going to get hurt. To learn more click here
