Child punished for no reason

6-year-old punished because her parents made her late

A six year old named Brooke was sent to detention for being tardy. Her parents made her late multiple times but the child took the blame. The parents talked to the teacher and the principle but Brooke still had to face the punishment. Brooke's dad was the only one that felt bad so he sat with her through her lunch detentions. The parents feel bad because it was their responsibility to take her to school but they say that they have a new baby at home. I think this is important because you shouldn't punish a six year old for what the parents did. This is also important because a six year old shouldn't have to be in detention because she didn't know what she was doing wrong.
